Michael Peterson had five children, of which two are his biological sons – Todd Peterson and Clayton Peterson.
Todd and Clayton are offsprings of his first marriage to late Patty Peterson, who died from a heart attack in 2021.
Todd Peterson
Todd is an entrepreneur and lives in the Durham, Chapel Hill area. On his Instagram page, he regards himself as President & Founder of America Industries.
He graduated from North Carolina State University graduate and runs a website for teenagers.
The night Kathleen was murdered, he was out partying with friends. Todd had stood by his father all through the trial, claiming that he was innocent.
Clayton Peterson
Clayton now resides in Maryland with his two children and wife, Becky Peterson.
Clayton is the eldest child of the Peterson children. He grew up in West Germany and lived with Patricia after his parents’ divorce.
Clayton graduated from Duke University and later moved to Durham, North Carolina, with Todd, to be with their father.
Clayton also supported his father throughout his trial.
