Drugs worth Rs 167 cr smuggled from Myanmar seized in Mizoram, woman held

Aizawl, Sep 25 (IANS) In one more significant progress in its campaign against drugs carrying, the Assam Rifles officers recuperated exceptionally habit-forming 5.05 lakh Methamphetamine tablets worth Rs 167.86 crore in Champhai locale of eastern Mizoram, Safeguard sources said.

Guard Representative Lieutenant Colonel A. S. Walia said on Saturday night that the medications weighing 55.8 kg was covertly carried in a vehicle.

“Our soldiers blocked the vehicle at Melbuk town and recuperated 5.05 lakh Methamphetamine tablets contained in 50 big packages,” he said, adding that a lady was likewise captured regarding the medications seizure.

The held onto drugs and kept lady were given over to Zokhawthar police headquarters for additional official actions.

The Police suspect that the medications were carried from Myanmar.
